Why this card is awesome: Because this is a great action shot of Heaton in mid-pitch. Check out how bent his wrist is.
Cool stat: Heaton's yet another guy that George Bell hit the most homers off of. Well, Jorge and Darrr-rrryl, both.

We're celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the great classic baseball card sets, 1988 Topps. We're going through all 792 cards one by one, posting bits about what makes the card awesome and cool stats about the player or team featured on the card. We're also posting the 1988 Topps Traded set!

I read somewhere quite awhile ago that Neal Heaton was one of those players who refused to pose for the card companies. You had to get him in action during a game or you were out of luck. All of the Heaton cards I have (and I'm ashamed I have so many) are action cards.
really?...interesting
