#112 Les Lancaster

Why this card is awesome: Because of Les' performance in 1985 at Wytheville. 10 game starts, 7 complete games. Niiice.

Cool stat: Lancaster was involved in one of the more interesting games by a relief pitcher, where he went to play the outfield for a batter so that he could come back in and pitch. Click here to read all about it.

I always thought that, at least on this card, Lancaster looked like Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

That could fit well with Greg Maddux looking like Ferris Bueller.

Les never did finish that mustache.

I liked the link on pitchers playing the outfield. I remember Whitey Herzog doing that quite a bit with Todd Worrell and Ricky Horton. There was also a game in 1988 when Jose Oquendo had to pitch 4 innings in an extra innings game against the Braves(find that link for when his card comes up) that Jose DeLeon had to play the outfield and he would alternate with "the real outfielder" between left and right field depending on whether there was a left or right handed batter.

Oquendo's card already came up, and I already did link to that came (in the comments, I think.) Just put Oquendo's name in the search box all the way at the top and you'll hit it.
