#49T Tom Herr

What a terrible airbrush job! Holy smokes!

IMPACT FACTOR 1/10: Herr came to the Twins in exchange for Tom Brunansky, and after half a mediocre season was packaged with a couple of guys and sent to the Phillies for Shane Rawley. Rawley was fairly bad for the Twins in one season, his last in the big leagues.

Why are the bad airbrushing cards (are there any really good ones?) always accompanied by bad pictures?

Herr looks awful (not even counting the ridiculous Twins helmet).

Horrible air brushing ... but still better than the Buddy Bell job.

I was in a fantasy baseball league in work in 1988 when the Brunansky for Herr trade happened. One of our managers had Herr on his team. The way the league worked, he lost Brunansky and had to draft an available player. He didn't get automatic rights to Herr. Another player in the league snapped Herr up before the ink on the contract was dry. This manager was literally walking around the office complaining about how unfair it was. It was his first (and last) year in the league.
