#30 Sid Fernandez
Why this card is awesome: Because of the umpire in the background wearing the full jacket. It seems longer ago to me that umpires gave up wearing jackets, and to me it looks very old-fashioned and dignified.
Cool stat: Well, I wrote a whole piece about Sid Fernandez recently over at the Stat of the Day blog at Baseball-Reference.com. So I am going to take the easy way out here and refer you the post right here. Basically, it talks about how Fernandez was much more effective early in games than late in games.

Love the blog, man.
Thank you!
Keep on reading!
somewhere in the 90's, MLB decided that umpires can be in any game, rather than NL only/AL only.
One other cool thing, you can clearly see his uniform number on the card. Fernandez wore No. 50 in honor of his home state, Hawaii, the 50th state to join the union. Thanks, WWOR, circa 1989.
If you like stuff about uniforms, be sure to come back for card #35 (should be up tomorrow.) That's one is QUITE awesome due to a uniform number issue.
I also notice that Sid's backside doesn't look quite so big as it really was or became a few years later. I am a little ashamed for noticing this but man, that thing took up some real estate!
