Why this card is awesome: Because of all the obscure-sounding minor league stops on the back of the card - Helena, Bend, Spartanburg, Peninsula...
Cool stat: Funny how things work sometimes. The batter with the most career PAs against Childress was seen just a few cards ago: Garry Templeton, and he went hitless against Rocky.

I see Childress spent a long time in the Phillies farm system and got called up a couple of times. Too bad I don't have a Phillies card of him, I could add him to my Phorgotten Phillies Phile. I sure don't remember him.
Unfortunately Childress has no major issue cards in a Phillies uniform that I can find (i.e. Topps, Donruss, Fleer, etc, from that era.)
Yeah, I pretty much have every regular issue Phillies card from the 1980s so I was pretty sure he never appeared as a Phillie.
Too bad.
