We're celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the great classic baseball card sets, 1988 Topps. We're going through all 792 cards one by one, posting bits about what makes the card awesome and cool stats about the player or team featured on the card. We're also posting the 1988 Topps Traded set!

That is some year he had in '87 at Calgary! I can see why Topps gave him a Future Stars salute.
Honestly, this is the first time I have ever seen this card. Plus I thought Mike Campbell was guitarist for the Heartbreakers. Hmmm.
Funny...when I made this post, I was also reminded of Campbell from the Heartbreakers. (That's Tom Petty's band.)
It's actually the 3rd Future Stars card in the set (you forgot Leiter #18). I just did a post about the 1988 Future Stars. Not the best choices.
I stand corrected....
Here's the post:

I have to say...I think they were great choices. Elster, Leiter, and Lind all had good major league careers. And I have a soft spot for Joey Meyer because I saw him crush a mammoth homer in a minor league game in Denver (when the Brewers' AAA team played there.)
Sorry, here is the real link:
